More news from Page 4 - The word is out that
JAMIECOHEN961 sold some of their fake lamps to a customer who has had
them evaluated - of course they were fakes - and this customer has
asked for a refund as stated in the listing.. No replies and no
refunds. On October 6 several more of their fakes were listed on Ebay
and one day later they are gone and so is any history of
JAMIECOHEN961. Hopefully this seller and the others in this group
will be gone forever. Keep watching for more details of this very
expensive scam. See references on Page 3 and Page 4. |

GOOD NEWS - Ebay has made SUEQ404 a NO LONGER A
REGISTERED USER and Ebay is a safer place now. Strange how all of
these sellers started out as bidders and when you saw one sell, you
saw the others as a bidder and they would bid many times on the same
piece and their bid never seem to meet reserve. See page 4 for more
information on them. |
We have found JAMIECOHEN961 and is now shown as a
NO LONGER A REGISTERED USER. Ebay has removed this seller but was it
for selling fakes or because they got caught using shills. Maybe it
was because the shill got caught with the high bid and that sale was
cancelled and the fake was sold to a real bidder who had no idea that
he was buying a fake and then the sale was cancelled to the shill
which allows the seller to avoid paying Ebay their commission.
Commission on a fake sale for $15,000 is a lot of money. Ebay would
not have this problem if they quit letting these scammers hid their
business behind the PRIVATE bidder option. Read more about this
seller of fakes on page 4. Jamie, why have you not replied to the
several certified letters asking for a refund as you say you would do
in your listing? Reply to us and we will send it to the buyer you
ripped off. |

NEWS FROM EBAY - Another new seller has
appeared overnight offering 2 new fake and fraudulently signed
Tiffany lamps. The seller is ANTIQUEHUNTER0 and the pattern is the
same with a low feedback rating but this time there is no guarantee.
Two other pieces are also listed but we know nothing about them. We
will keep you advised of this latest from a seller who is selling
these fakes out of Miami but 2 weeks ago was selling from Atlanta.
Seems like the checks for the JAMIECOHEN961 and SUEQ404 fakes were
sent to Atlanta. Could this be the same group? Of course the USER ID
KEPT PRIVATE, as is the case with most of these fakes which makes it
hard to tell the bidders from the shills from the idiots. |

the last few weeks, all using the PRIVATE BIDDER feature and of
course, all selling with no guarantee. The listings all seem to have
been written by the same person. Makes you just want to send them
some money right away. Sure it does. |

Bidders are paying attention. The fake and
fraudulently signed lamps offered by ANTIQUEHUNTER0, MCCJOEA and
MAEGRETIEL are receiving lots of bids that amount to less than 10
percent of their value if they were real. Who is bidding on these
fakes? Imagine a bid of $9100 on a 18 light lily lamp that should
sell for close to $100,000 if real. The other lamps that they are
offering as Tiffany Studios era are selling for next to nothing which
is what they are worth. We received an e mail from someone who asked
"if these lamps are fake, how do they get so many bids?"
The answer is that if the bids are PRIVATE, who knows if the bidders
are real or if they are shills, do they have a feedback rating of 0
like the sellers and are there really 20 bids or just two shills
bidding and bidding to make it look like there is activity. When you
see a bidder with a low rating and see that they buy or sell low
priced dolls or car parts, you would have to wonder why they are
bidding on a Tiffany lamp.
Seller MAEGRETIEL has 2 lamps offered on Ebay now
and neither is guaranteed to be genuine and neither can be paid for
with PayPal or a credit card. What's with that?

and all of them are fakes. The seller thinks that one is especially
rare because the Tiffany name has been mispelled but the other 2 are
just plain rare.

BUYING AT AUCTIONS
A word of caution about buying Tiffany from the
Ebay Live Auctions. Be very careful, ask questions and do not assume
anything just because it is a live auction. Most are very reputable
but some are used by owners to unload fake Tiffany and these can be
told by the short descriptions, too few pictures with no guarantee of
authenticity, and what about the 20 - 25 percent buyer's fee in
addition to the selling price. Common sense is always the best
defense against fakes.

He's back. MCCJOEA is back with his 2 fake lamps
again. One is now called a Clematis but is the same lamp from a few
weeks ago when it was called a Floral. The other is the same desk
lamp as before that has yet to get even one bid. Still no Paypal, no
credit card and no guarantee. Now he has a new one listed. Check out
his VERY VERY RARE and VERY VERY FAKE Dragonfly shade just listed.
Watch out for all three of them and we are sure he has more hidden away.

"BUYING OFF EBAY" - This is a
practice that some of the sellers of fake Tiffany pieces use to sell
their pieces and it works like this: using shills (their partners)
they keep bidding until the auction is over. The high bidder is the
shill and the second high bidder is the sucker. The sucker get an e
mail from the seller- Ebay calls this a "Second Chance
Offer" - and the seller gives you some excuse for not selling to
the high bidder and, lucky you, can now buy it for your bid price.
The item probably did not offer a guarantee but if it did, you are
going to get stuck with a fake and Ebay will not be able to help you
in any way. This happened to an Ebayer and he lost over $27,000 and
has had no luck getting his money back for a fake although the seller
promised it to be genuine. You cannot tell the real bidders from the
shills when the seller uses the PRIVATE BIDDER feature so if you want
to gamble, this is the wrong way.
