NAMES IN RED ITALICS
ARE REPEAT SELLERS OF FAKES
We have a complete alphabetical listing of sellers who have offered
fake and fraudulently signed Tiffany Studios items which can be accessed
by clicking on our SELLERS TO WATCH page in the left margin.
WHERE ARE ALL OF THESE TAZZAS AND COMPOTES
COMING FROM? BE CAREFUL.

SELLER ABOVE - ON THE RIGHT
- HAS THREE OF THESE FAKES FOR SALE
We first came in contact with Ebay seller NARUKO years ago
and exactly like a bad penny, he keeps showing up although he has
been out of the Tiffany spotlight for a few years. His latest offering
is a "Tiffany" window that our advisors from the East coast
to the West coast state in no uncertain verbiage that the window was
not made by Tiffany. No big deal and after reading the listing you
can get the feeling that NARUKO - aka Gary Braverman - is not
all that convinced that it is a genuine Tiffany window himself. However,
he does state that the window carries his "authenticity guarantee'
for whatever that is worth. From his listing: MY CLAIM AND GUARANTEE
ARE THAT THESE 3 PANELS WERE MADE BY TIFFANY STUDIOS AND MY GUARANTEE
IS THE SET COMES WITH A MONEY BACK GUARANTEE AS LONG AS THE SET IS
RETURNED WITHIN A 3 MONTHS LIMIT" and "BUYER MUST PRESENT
A SIGNED LETTER ON A TIFFANY EXPERTS LETTERHEAD STATING THAT THE 3
PANELS WERE NOT MADE BY TIFFANY STUDIOS". It would seem that
NARUKO would at least offer to pay for the postage both ways
and the buyer's cost to get another evaluation. Best to ask first.
His next demand is probably
a good idea as he states that the "Venue for resolution of any
legal dispute is New York City NY" - how many sellers put that
in their listings? - which is where his partner - R.A.G. Antiques
has his shop. The owner at that time and a partner to Braverman was
JACK SHAOUL who was involved in filing an insurance claim for a painting
that was supposed to have been damaged by a water leak. He was caught
when his employee testified that the painting was hidden in a closet
after the water damage and supplied a photo of the window - undamaged
- with a photo of a New York newspaper showing a date after the water
damage. Years later there was a fake Tiffany window sold and the NYC
court found that the owner of R.A.G. - aka Universe Antiques - was
guilty of selling a fake window to a gentleman who was promised that
the window was genuine. The buyer wanted to donate a window to a church
and all he got for his 1.3 million dollars was some courtroom drama
but the verdict came in as expected and the donor and his agent got
their money back. Surely if there was a court fight over this window,
NARUKO's partner would not want to be seen in that courtroom
again. JACK SHAOUL seems to have other legal problems as can be read
in the articles mentioned below. We suggest you familiarize yourself
with other articles we have written on this seller and his partner
and we now furnish you with their titles and location:

2. FINALLY A REST - Page 18
3. FINALLY A REST - CHAPTER 2 - Page 21
4. FINALLY A REST - CHAPTER 3 - Page 21
The Maine Antique Digest reported on the trial regarding the window.
The MAD article states that the particular window mentioned was in
the custody of the FBI from 1992 to 1996 as evidence in another fraud
case in which Shaoul served 40 months in a federal prison for a conviction
of "mis-attribution of art works" along with 11 counts of
mail fraud, perjury and attempting to suborn perjury. The judge sanctioned
him as "FRAUD". Sometimes what is old is not always genuine
and sometimes they just never learn.
CHANGES IN THE ABOVE LISTING
NARUKO has decided 2 days after the listing appeared that a
return window of 3 months is way too long and has changed the listing
to show the period of return will now be 15 days. Keep you eye on
the listing as other changes will probably be made and we can only
hope one of them will be the total removal of this fake Tiffany window.
MORE FROM NARUKO
NARUKO has listed another window that HE attributes to Tiffany.
What has that attribution got to be worth?
MORE FROM AND ABOUT THE NEW
|Yet another window that
is not a Tiffany window has been posted by the team of Jack Shaoul
and Gary Braverman and this time the window is not guaranteed
by either of them - who would trust their judgment anyway - but
for provenance the listing states that Bonhams says it is a Tiffany
window. There are several very knowledgeable experts in Tiffany
windows in New York and the Northeast and we suggest if you have
any interest, you contact one of them. Knowledge about Tiffany
windows has changed bunches since this window was determined to
be a Tiffany by Bonhams ten years ago. Our advice to you if you
are interested in this window, make absolutely sure that Bonhams
goes on paper in 2016 and states that it is a genuine Tiffany
window. You have read above about the exploits of these two and
they can be trusted no further than you can toss them. The window
has been around for years and many dealers have seen it. At the
asking price, it is a bargain but only if it is genuine. The window
advisors to TiffanyFakes say it is not Tiffany and we will put
our faith in their opinion as they have nothing to gain or lose.
The next thing to consider is the reputation, or lack thereof,
of Braverman and Shaoul. Other than the legal problems of Shaoul
which are well known - see above - less is know about Braverman.
His listings mention his feedback and asked the question "want
to be protected on your Ebay purchases - Then read my feedback
- it is my Ebay history of selling for 16 years". We did
read his feedback and we now offer a few of his feedbacks taken
directly from Ebay. They are:
worst ebay experience ever, not old or original

SELLER LIED, PORTHOLES DON'T MATCH, GLASS
WAS BROKEN, OTHER NEGS. TELL IT ALL!!!
seller lied didn't say figurine is broken
and glued allover don't refund $500
The act of lying seems to be a common
thread in Braverman' dealings. It does not appear that his claim
of "NARUKO SAFE AND SECURE EBAY DEALER SINCE 1998" is
an accurate statement. Also as with his last window, he makes
the statement that "VENUE FOR RESOLUTION OF ANY LEGAL DISPUTE
IS KINGSTON. NY" while the venue for the other above window
is New York City. Important to have that in your listings? Of
course it is.
All exactly as taken from Ebay. This is
what you will be dealing when you deal with Naurko - Gary
Braverman - and the question to you is do you want to get involved
knowing of his past dealings. Do not let this attractive price
fool you because shipping and returning a glass window no matter
who made it is an expensive proposition and it will be your responsibility
to insure that it is returned and at your cost.
DO NOT BE ALARMED
Several people have advised that we are incorrect regarding the information
about shipping charges and a check with Ebay confirms our mistake.
If you were to purchase a window from NAURKO - Gary
Braverman - who stated that the window was a Tiffany Studios window
and that statement was false, you can return the window to him and
in addition to getting your purchase price back, Ebay will see that
you get the shipping charges, both "from" and "to"
refunded also. We suggest you check with Ebay yourself before you
commit to making a purchase from NAURKO. More of his
listing statements that are incorrect and downright lies. What did
(REMOVED BY SELLER)
We have warned you before and we will repeat the warning again. If you
are bidding on an item where the seller has made the "BIDDERS'
IDENTITIES PROTECTED" or if you see where a bidder has made their
bids private, you need to question why this is necessary.
There is much information to be learned when you check the list of bidders
and see this
attempt by either the seller or the bidder to hide their identity. "Why?"
is the first
question that should come to mind.
THE TAIWAN INDIANS
a seller who has graced our pages several times before, has
continued to offer the Indians above. Although clearly and very
poorly signed as TIFFANY STUDIOS, the seller now wants
you to believe they were made by Tiffany & Company
and as such has reduced the price from $999 to $742. Such a
deal. Dealing with sellers like this can be very harmful for
your financial well being. These pieces have been around for
many years and on our site for many years.
SELLERS NAMES IN RED
ITALICS ARE REPEAT SELLERS OF FAKE TIFFANY
ON THE RIGHT
Normally we do not become
involved with damaged or repaired Tiffany Studios items, of
which this is not, but this particular example is an exception.
First off, it has 8 very
obvious staples holding it together.
Then an very obvious Dremel
signature and finally, the seller only wants $2500 for it.
