A frequent contributor
to this site has just listed the fake and fraudulently signed
lamp on the left. The first clue is that the seller is offering
to sell this lamp and will keep the identity of the buyer
PRIVATE. That alone should set alarms off. According to the
seller, this is intended to protect the buyer from phony 2nd
chance offers but the real intention is to keep anyone from
notifying the buyer that they have bought a fake. The base
signature will not fool anyone and do not be seduced by this
no reserve low starting price. Nobody seems to have been fooled
by this fake as it sold for just $1009. Not bad for a lamp
and a shade and the fake Tiffany marks come with it. This
seller has graced our pages before on Page 10 and again on
Page 13.

left just sold for $95.00 for the pair at an auction house with only
one bid and sold to someone at the auction. Is this the very same
PhillipWeiss who can be seen on Antique Roadshow as an advisor? Maybe
that could explain where all of those "to Mars" prices come
from.
