These are the items you will encounter most of the time. They are all of small cost ranging from less than $5.00 to a high of $13.00 although some can be priced higher and are readily available from sellers of reproductions. Many are signed as Tiffany Studios but others are just signed Tiffany. They have sold on Ebay for as much as $200.00 and are currently available now. The sellers of these items usually list them under the Antiques category and they call them vintage although they are new and made in Taiwan. All will probably be missing the Made In Taiwan ROC (Republic of China) label. See below for an example.

BELT BUCKLES

This is such an old scam that TiffanyFakes.Com will not address the issue and only one buckle will be shown below which should answer all questions about the belt buckles. Every single one of them with a Tiffany Studios stamp on them is a fake. Tiffany & Company made and probably still makes some silver or gold buckles but they can be easily distinguished from the many that are offered on Ebay.

If you are interested in these fake belt buckles, click on CONTACT US and let us know of your interest and you will receive an e mail with the address of two web sites that address these fakes.

The "Goose Girl" plate shown above is available from AA Importing in St Louis with a price of $20.00 for 2. These have been offered for years and sometimes the sellers will tell you that the hands and face are ivory but they are plastic. This is an old fake that keeps coming back.

The two pictures on the right show a just sold piece of fake Tiffany that got a price of over $2800 and was purchased without a single word of guarantee of being genuine. The listing states that it is beautifully

detailed but it appears to have been made in high school shop. This is not the first time this piece has been listed on Ebay but it now appears that it has been sold so maybe we will not have to see this fake again

The inkwell on the left is made of spelter and the seller saw one just like it in a Tiffany book and for the first time the seller is using the PRIVATE feature. What book? When did Tiffany use spelter?

You can have it with the 3 angels or with the 3 frogs but either one will be a fake.

Just when you think you have seen it all... This "rare find" <<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>> -on the left and the right- sulpture which was "done in the seclusion of the late hours within the studio" is now offered for sale on Ebay.

This lamp has been missing for about a year when it appeared in an auction in Atlanta and then in an auction in Florida but it is now back on Ebay with all kinds of references to Neustadt"s book. This is a lamp that has been reattributed to Riviere by the curator of the New York Historical Society which has the original given by Neustadt to the NYHS

It is usually accompanied by a similar base but the one offered on Ebay is just a shade on an unsigned base. This is most likely a copy by an unknown maker and it is doubtful that it was made by Riviere.. Vague address for the seller who has a 0 feedback rating and uses the PRIVATE feature. Be very careful and if you think you are buying Tiffany, you are not.

NOTICE AND CAUTION

In the past few days there have been a few Tiffany lamps on Ebay from brand new sellers with low feedback and all of them are using the PRIVATE feature. What they are doing is stealing photos from past sales of genuine Tiffany lamps and now they are selling them as if they really have possession. All of the warning signs are there. Pay attention and be very careful.

MARVELOUS-MERCHANDISE

The object on the right is offered for sale and as proof, the seller says it was made in 1970, 40 years after Tiffany Studios went out of business. The missing sticker on the bottom said Made In Taiwan.

The picture on the right and the picture on the left are for an lion and it has a fake and fraudulent signature. The signature on the right is a very common fake signature. Do not buy Tiffany unless it has a written guarantee in the listing. It might not make it real but it is some protection.

The three pieces above are offered on Ebay by a seller already listed on this site as a DEALER TO WATCH and these listings point out a very common practice to watch for and to absolutely avoid. The seller has a positive feedback of 100 percent but only has 20 - 25 entries. All are for items purchased and no feedback for items sold. Is the seller trustworthy and would you spend thousands with this seller based on the excellent feedback of his purchases which average $25 each? I doubt it although he promises an appraisal with each purchase. There is no written guarantee from the seller but there is a lot of wordage which, when looked at objectively, it means absolutely nothing. Of course the seller uses the PRIVATE BIDDERS function so if you bid you will never hear from any of the good hearted Tiffany experts and Ebay dogooders. Lastly we look at the Ebay experience of the seller and find out he has been an Ebay member since December 29, 2005 and for all of those date challenged, this means he has been on Ebay for less than 30 days. Now he has been on Ebay one month and has changed his name already. You send the seller a check. Not us. New news- this seller who has been on Ebay less than 30 days using one name has now changes his name and before that name is 30 days old, he has been declared "No Longer A Registered User" by Ebay. Hopefully you were not one of the people who bought his fakes. This seller reappeared in early March using a new name and offering some of the same merchandise. An e mail to Ebay got him off and the fake Tiffany he was selling is gone. For how long? Know your seller or you are going to get scammed.
